Vulva photography guide

This guide is for contributors and photographing partners. Two standing photographs are required (with and without a ruler). Recumbent photographs are optional.

Intent: educational and non-erotic. Read the full guide before uploading.

Quickstart

1. Decompress 10–15 minutes after removing tight clothing.
2. Standing, frontal — feet shoulder-width, facing diffuse window light. Camera 38 cm away, ~10° upward, midline ±10°.
3. Upload at /contribute:
   • Required: standing, no ruler
   • Required: standing, with ruler (same pose)
   • Optional: recumbent, no ruler and with ruler (same framing)
4. Submit unedited originals.

Lighting, framing, resolution

Same principles as the penis guide: diffuse window light, ~50 mm equivalent (~2× phone zoom), 38 cm distance, minimum 6 MP originals, no editing before upload.

Required photographs

• Standing, frontal — no ruler
• Standing, frontal — with ruler (same pose; ruler vertical against thigh, cm/mm visible)

Optional photographs (recumbent)

You may add recumbent photographs (no ruler and with ruler). They are not required to submit.

What we change after upload

Crop, white balance, exposure, and shadows only—no reshaping or smoothing.
